"The blues ain't nothing but a good man feelin' bad"

Nico "Doctor Q" Vreeburg - Drums

At the age of 15 I started playing the drums. Not the "same old-same old" from the big drums at the marching band to progress to real drums. No, with the marching band I played the bugle for a brief period. Did not like that at all. So, I started practising at the drumkit right away. After the requisite High School Band period, I discovered the Blues during my student time in Utrecht. The "Southern Diplomats" was a 5-man band in which I played for 7 years. Playing Blues and Blues Rock, we won the "Meernse Popnachten" (Pop Nights in Meern) and were awarded with a chance to play at the yearly "Paaspop Festival". Our dream performance for 4,000 people took place between performances of the famous Dutch bands "De Dijk" and "De Scene".
Very memorable were the "vacations" in France with a VW-bus full of stuff and performing for a few Francs, food and beer.
After graduating, I settled in Oss as a veterinarian. "Pebbles and the Bam Bams" followed a few coverbands I played in. Bluesy numbers, written and composed by us. Also some heavier blues rock. A steady gig for this band was the "Oerol Festival" in Terschelling for a whole week of performing. The best experience was playing the opening program for the oldest Rock & Roll band from Holland; the Bintangs. Great times.
Now I'm ready for a new challenge: Down and Dirty. Back to real Blues with a Dixie-jazz sauce and a lick of Rock & Roll. Arnold is irriplacable, so a new beginning. I'm eager to place my own soul into this bluesband.
